INSERTION:

Wash hands thoroughly. Make sure the eye socket
is clean and free of any foreign matter. If
necessary, gently remove any foreign matter from
the socket with a dry cotton swab. Hold the
prosthesis between thumb and middle finger, with
the iris color facing away from the socket and the
black dot up. Use the index finger of the other hand
to raise the upper lid. Gently insert the top portion
of the prosthesis into the eye socket under the
upper lid as far as it will go. While holding the eye
in place, pull down on the lower lid until it slips over
the bottom of the prosthesis, then release the
lower lid and the eye will seat itself firmly into
position. Insertion is now complete.

REMOVAL:

WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY. Moisten the tip
of a clean suction and place it on the iris of the
prosthesis. Squeeze the suction cup while pressing
it firmly against the prosthesis. Then release the
suction cup, thereby allowing it to fasten itself to
the artificial eye. Gently pull down on the lower lid
while lifting the bottom part of the prosthesis out
and away from the socket until the prosthesis is
completely removed. The prosthesis may also be
removed with out the use of a suction cup by
pulling down on the lower lid while looking up.
When the bottom part of the prosthesis slips over
the lower lid, use the other hand to lift the
prosthesis out of the socket completely.
