IMPRESSION
An impression of the socket is taken with an alginate material to provide the posterior (back) dimensions of the prosthesis.
MODELING
A wax model is fabricated from the impression and is sculpted to achieve the best symmetry with lid opening and direction of the remaining eye,
PAINTING
The prosthesis is hand painted while observing the patient's companion eye. This involves matching the iris color, limbal blend, scleral tinting, and veining.
POLISHING AND FITTING
The prosthesis is polished and fit, to determine if any adjusting is necessary.
